Since its foundation in the late 1970s, the GMC Group has grown organically year on year. Through its then operating arm, Gerry McCloskey (Irl) Ltd., GMC commenced operations in the Telecoms sector with contracts for Telecom Eireann and British Telecom. By adopting a cost orientated and quality driven approach from its inception, the Group has seen this organic growth spread throughout all other utilities. The Group’s founder, Gerry McCloskey, has engendered a philosophy which has encouraged consistent heavy investment in labour, plant and backroom resources. Through its programmes for labour and staff training, GMC personnel strive to deliver projects which meet and exceed clients’ expectations. The Directors of GMC have facilitated this growth and driven approach by careful strategic planning. The Group is in the process of introducing a Total Integrated Management System which will incorporate the ISO 9001:2008, the OHSAS: 18001 and the ISO: 14001 standards.
