GMC carries out drone survey

Working on behalf of Uisce Éireann, GMC carried out a drone survey of the 1800mm brick sewer at Pigeon House Road.

This was the first of its kind in Dublin and it comes as part of Uisce Éireann’s innovative ways of using the latest technology to reduce the risks associated with carrying out surveys in dangerous environments.
GMC partnered with The Drone Guys to facilitate the survey, which captured 4k footage and live 3D mapping via the onboard Lidar system. We will be looking at further use of this technology for future surveys.
We are currently undertaking several sewer rehab projects in the Dublin region, including cleaning and survey of non-man entry pipework up to 900mm in size, cleaning and surveying of man entry sewers greater than 900mm in size and full rehabilitation works including CIPP and GRP section lining.
