GMC Utilities Supports Community Initiatives Alongside ESB Networks in Belcamp and Darndale

In October 2024, GMC Utilities Group commenced work on behalf of ESB Networks to install a new 110kV underground cable in Belcamp and Darndale. This critical infrastructure project will enhance the electricity network, ensuring a more reliable and sustainable power supply for the area.

Beyond delivering essential infrastructure, GMC Utilities and ESB Networks share a strong commitment to community engagement. As part of this project, we partnered on two fantastic local initiatives, making a meaningful impact where it matters most.

Investing in Young Athletes: Our Lady Immaculate Junior National School

At Our Lady Immaculate JNS, we partnered with Coerver Coaching to sponsor a five-week soccer skills programme for senior infant and first-class students.

This initiative provided young students with the opportunity to:

Learn fundamental soccer techniques from expert coaches
Build confidence through active participation
Develop a love for the game and teamwork skills

By supporting this programme, GMC Utilities and ESB Networks are proud to help nurture the next generation of young athletes, promoting healthy lifestyles and sportsmanship from an early age

Empowering the Local Community: Moatview Fairfield Development Association

Established in 1983, the Moatview Fairfield Development Association (MFDA) plays a vital role in the local community, offering Community Employment placements for individuals seeking to return to the workforce.

Through a combination of employment, education, and training, MFDA helps long-term unemployed individuals gain valuable skills and work experience.

The association’s Environmental Team also provides essential services, including:

Maintaining public spaces and green areas
Enhancing the appearance of the neighborhood
Creating a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming environment

Recognising the invaluable contributions of the MFDA, GMC Utilities and ESB were delighted to support their ongoing efforts in community employment and environmental sustainability.
