Mick Scott was on site pipelaying when he encountered a vehicle on a public road that was stopped in live traffic and creating an obstacle for other road-users.
Mick realised that the driver appeared to be in some distress. He approached the car and quickly established that the driver was suffering from a medical episode. Mick immediately contacted the emergency services and stayed with the driver to ensure they were safe.
Mick saw that the surrounding traffic was building up which could lead to an accident. He was able to improvise a traffic management system with his crew for the safety of other road users until the emergency services arrived.
Mick’s intuition and calm response was instrumental in the safe recovery of the driver, and the safety of the other road users.
