Jimmy Condon Memorial Golf Outing

GMC Utilities, alongside our partners Gas Networks Ireland, were proud to sponsor the annual Jimmy Condon Memorial golf outing.

The event took place at Ashbourne Golf Club on September 2nd, with 16 teams battling it out.

Jimmy, widely seen as a mentor to many, worked for several years in the gas industry before sadly passing away last year.

Some of Jimmy’s family attended and played at the County Meath course, in what proved to be a memorable day. We were delighted to have Jimmy’s wife Carmel with us for the presentation of the memorial trophy to the winning team.

The winners were a side captained by Tony Lynch from Gas Networks Ireland.

Presentations on the night included a raffle which raised €720, which was donated to Beaumont Hospital in Jimmy’s name.

GMC were thrilled to link up with GNI to support the event and we are already looking forward to next year.

GMC’s Martin Durcan said:
“We were delighted to get involved in such a worthy cause. Well done to the winners and to all who participated and made it such a brilliant day. On behalf of GMC, I’d like to thank Fergal McManus, with the help of Shane Dowling, for organising the event, and Tony Lynch from Gas Networks Ireland for coming on board.”

John Memery of GNI added:
“A really brilliant day out and a big thanks to the staff in GMC for the work they put in to all the aspects of the day. Jimmy was such a great character and he’s missed by all of us but we enjoyed a great day in his memory. GNI are very grateful and proud to be part of this.”
