GMC Utilities Group is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Finglas - Merville 38kV Cable Replacement Project, delivered on behalf of ESB Networks.
This significant infrastructure upgrade forms part of a broader investment in Ireland’s energy network, aimed at enhancing the reliability, resilience, and sustainability of electricity supply in the region.
Project Overview
The project involved the replacement of over 2km of ageing underground cable with modern XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) cable, which offers improved performance, increased durability, and reduced maintenance requirements. The newly installed cable now plays a critical role in ensuring the secure and efficient transmission of electricity to homes and businesses in the Finglas - Merville area.
Minimising Disruption, Maximising Efficiency
Our experienced project team worked diligently to ensure the works were completed on time and with minimal disruption to the local community. Careful planning, close coordination with stakeholders, and robust traffic and environmental management strategies allowed the project to progress smoothly in a densely populated urban area.
Powering Progress with Purpose
This project is a strong example of GMC Utilities Group’s commitment to delivering high-quality, future-proof infrastructure solutions that meet the growing energy demands of Irish communities. By supporting the modernisation of the national electricity grid, we are proud to contribute to Ireland’s transition towards a more sustainable, secure, and connected energy future.
