We have undertaken significant telecommunications projects in both Northern and Southern Ireland over the last three decades.

The National Broadband Plan (NBP) is the Government’s plan to deliver high-speed broadband services to all businesses, farms and households in Ireland.

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) will be the designer, builder and operator of the ultrafast broadband network for rural Ireland.

The NBP is the largest-ever telecommunications project undertaken by the Irish State.

It aims to radically transform the country’s broadband landscape through the delivery of quality, affordable high-speed broadband to all parts of Ireland where such services are not available commercially.

The NBP will ensure that all people and businesses have access to high-speed broadband, no matter where they live or work.

Once completed, all parts of Ireland will have access to a modern and reliable broadband network, capable of supporting the communications, information, education and entertainment requirements of current and future generations.

GMC have been initially awarded six deployment areas as a key delivery partner for National Broadband Ireland which are the nominated body to deliver the National Broadband Plan.

When the Government broadband projects came on-stream, we were awarded the broadband installation works for Meath County Council in addition to projects for Carrick-On-Shannon, Limerick, and Liberties Coombe.

These projects were turnkey and included ducting, chamber construction, cabling and jointing of fibre optic cables, and the installation of co–location facilities in each of the towns.

In Northern Ireland, we installed the broadband network for UPC in the Greater Belfast area, in addition to undertaking the Sirius Route which comprised of a regional fiber network to form a ring around the North, together with a link between Belfast and Dublin.
